Prime Minister announced the exam cancellation, how it can affect students

Prime Minister announced the exam cancellation

An overwhelmed praise by students, as the PM’s announcement of the cancellation of papers and promotion of students till class 12 came out. This announcement came under the consideration of prevailing conditions of COVID-19. Decision was made with the consensus of all the provinces to avoid the increasing number of cases.

Ignoring the Pros and Cons of this news for a while, the targeted audience(students) is very happy with this. Students are praising the PM for this decision on social media.

But besides seeing all good and positive, there are certain Advantages and Disadvantages of this decision. Let’s highlight them in a broader perspective.

Advantages:

1. Big Relief:

This news came out to be a great stress releaser for the majority of the students and their parents. As the pandemic situation brings a lot of problems for them as well. Many of the students moved to their hometown. They were facing network issues due to which they couldn’t access their home tasks, video tutorials, etc.

2. Fruit without effort:

Yes, they got promoted to the next class without going through stressful sleepy nights of exam preparations, tense situations of examination room. They ended up their year with such ease that being a student they haven’t even imagined about this once in their life. Quarantine brings first great news to many of them in the form of cancellation of papers.

Disadvantages:

1. Hard-work not paid:

Most of the students who were not good at studies in their previous academic record and they were working hard to achieve better results this year. They will suffer allot because if results will be compiled on the basis of previous record then all their hard work will be ruined in a minute. They won’t be able to achieve their goals in the future as far as the merit is concerned for any degree.

2. Loss of an academic year:

Considering those who were improving their grades by appearing in supplementary exams, but now with this cancellation order they will be back into the shell of depression, tension, etc because they already have wasted their one year to improve their grades so that they can take admission to their desired institution. This decision will be going to affect their whole year again and make the merit line tougher for them.

3. No Evaluation, leave question marks:

Without being evaluated for what they have learned, students’ credibility for being perfectly ok for the next session will be questioned and might be they won’t be able to perform well in the next session. Because everyone knows the fact that most of the students prepare their exams in the last months. Due to this pandemic situation they were not preparing for their exams and this decision has given them relief. So, remaining untouched with their course for a long time will lead them to difficulty in their next session.

Conclusion:

Considering all the pros and cons of this decision, I think that this should be reviewed so that no one can question or feel neglected by this. Every decision must be taken by considering all the prevailing conditions in the country. But also focusing the students future as well. So, that no one will remain at loss. Neither the humanity nor the students future.
